To begin this year, we welcomed The Leap Program at the Middle School. The Leap Program (Leading, Empowering, Affirming, Progressive) has leased four classrooms in the building and began services for students with special needs. This program has offered a service to students, families and communities that was not previously available in our area. In keeping with the Crestview vision for being on the forefront of offering the very best educational experience to all students, The Leap Program has added to our work toward being a leader in the area. Administrators, Mrs. Kathleen Frazier and Mr. Vincent Ursetti, lead the program which includes six educators and approximately 15 students at this time.

Mrs. Frazier had this to say of the program, "The LEAP program is a therapeutic educational program that works with students with special needs. The students arrive to our program through various referrals where we work with them in a structured environment on academic functioning skills that cover the state content standards. The program is designed to nurture and build the social, emotional and coping skills needed to be successful in the public school setting."

On September 8, Crestview Middle School held a Family and Community Night. There was a lot of “Cougar” spirit on the grounds as students, families and staff enjoyed an evening of football and volleyball games, face painting and a door decorating contest.
